We breed on a limited basis, but, we have puppy owners that also breed.
In order to breed their/our girls, we require that their girls are AKC Champions, over 2 years of age, and are fully OFA health tested with echocardiograms. The dogs that they are bred to must also meet the same criteria and also be pure color bred (meaning that only fawn and/or brindle colors are in the pedigree). The girls are only permitted to be bred once our co-owners receive our approval of the breeding. This is how we protect our progeny and our intellectual property and hard work over the years.
We are pleased when our puppy owners (co-owners) are taking our pedigree forward to preserve the breed in health, longevity, temperament and conformation. Shared values when breeding is an important element in partnerships. Since we co-own our puppies, we are involved in their breeding plans when they are adults, from the beginning until the puppies are born, happy and thriving. We also assist our puppy owners with matching their puppies to the perfect, forever homes. Our puppy owners that breed are required to have contracts with every puppy they sell or co-own in order to make sure that they are safe throughout their lives.
In order for our puppy owners (co-owners) to breed their/our boys, they must be fully OFA health tested with echo, and the girls that they are breeding to must also be fully OFA health tested with echo and pure color bred, unless we make an exception on a case by case basis. They must utilize stud contracts similar to ours in order to make sure that they puppies are safe throughout their lives. The boys are only permitted to be bred once our co-owners receive our approval of the breeding. This is how we protect our progeny and our intellectual property and hard work over the years.
We stay very close with our puppy co-owners, especially while the puppies are going through their fast growth period. This helps to ensure that the puppies are growing on target and receive proper care for a giant breed.
Yes! Don't Worry. We do have Co-Ownership Contracts for every puppy.
We also stay in touch in order to assist our puppy co-owners if their adolescents have behavior problems as Great Danes are very "special" :)
Sometimes, we have older puppies/young adults available also

Below are the basic health tests for Great Danes that are recommended by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals. We believe that responsible breeders will follow the OFA's guidelines for testing for inherited/inheritable diseases in their gene pools.
1. OFA Cardiac Exam (very important to include an echocardiogram)
2. OFA Hip X-Rays
3. OFA Thyroid Test
4. OFA eyes
Some additional exams that some breeders complete are:
1. OFA Shoulder x-rays
2. OFA Elbow x-rays
3. Test for Von Willebrand's Disease
4. Penn-Hip X-Rays
5. 24 Hour Holter Monitor
Yes, health testing can be expensive!
If breeders do not health test, then, how do they know if their dogs affected with an inheritable genetic health issues? What if they pass it on? What if they need treatment, medical care or Medications? How will you know without health testing?
All potential puppy buyers can look up the health results on any dog on:
www.ofa.org (just type in the dog's registered name in the search box)
Some breeders might not always send in the results to OFA, however, they should be able to show you the health certificates, with the results for all of the above health tests.
Our Opinion is..and...We Believe... that...
Many Responsible Breeders will guarantee puppies against genetic health problems and return your money to you, or, provide another puppy to you if your pup has an inherited disease... please be sure to ask the breeders about this as many will only replace the pup if you return the orignial puppy.
Most irresponsible breeders will NOT spend the money to health test their dogs. Health, longevity, expenses, pain and suffering (and the suffering of the dogs) are not their priorities. Taking the time to research the breeders now, will most likely save you a world of pain later.
Please Be Patient and take the time necessary to find the right puppy for your family. A Great Dane is a HUGE responsibility.
We will ALWAYS accept a dog back if the owner cannot keep him..regardless of his age. Most show breeders do have puppies in their litters that will not be shown and they also are guaranteed and have the same genetics and health testing behind them as the show pups.
